Janet MacLeod fell in love with Iyengar Yoga when she took a class in London, England in 1978 and has been in love with it ever since. This strong affinity to Yoga inspired her to practice, study and later teach this very sophisticated style of yoga. She began teaching in 1981 while still enrolled in the teacher training program at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco. she took her first of many trips to India to study with the Iyengar family in 1983. She has also attended several conventions in the USA and abroad most recently in May 2011 she travelled to Johannesburg to participate in a convention led by Geeta Iyengar. She teaches ongoing classes in San Francisco; is a member of the teacher training faculty of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco; gives guest workshops and retreats worldwide. Janet understands the challenging nature of yoga and although her classes are demanding they have an air of lightness about them. Students are able to penetrate deeply but can also laugh once in a while.
