DIRECT FROM INDIA: LEARN TO CHANT THE YOGA SUTRAS
with Dr. Sucheta Paranjpe

This is a rare opportunity to work with, Dr. Sucheta Paranjpe, a noted Sanskrit scholar and teacher who lives in Pune India. She is the Sanskrit teacher to Lois Steinberg and a former advisor on the Lyricized Yoga Sutras project.

The Yoga Sutras were passed down orally for thousands of years before being written down by Pantajali. Some believe there is a great power in simply chanting them in Sanskrit. Even B.K.S. Iyengar learned to chant the sutras before absorbing their meaning.

In this fun and interactive workshop Dr. Sucheta Paranjpe will guide students through the Yoga Sutras of Pantajali. Her engaging and encouraging style helps even those new to sanskrit find their voice and rhythm to partake in the inherent powers of the sutras. Designed for students and teachers alike, Dr Paranjpe helps build the confidence in intonation and understanding necessary to share and teach the sutras.
