Kathy has been a student of yoga since 1976. She is touched by the profound sensitive teachings of the Iyengars in Pune where she makes regular visits. This inspirational teaching enriches and nourishes her own practice and teachings. The joys and new discoveries from her practice are then happily shared with others.

Nora has been teaching Iyengar yoga since 1987 and enjoys sharing the depth and range of the practice with her students. Herself a graduate of IYISF's Teacher Training Program, Nora began her yoga journey after performing and teaching modern dance and movement for many years. She has maintained a bodywork practice since 1981.

She is dedicated to teaching yoga in the Iyengar tradition. Her yoga background includes intense yoga studies with the Iyengar family in Pune, India, 3 years of  continuing apprenticeship with top San Francisco Bay Area instructors, Janet MacLeod and Kathy Alef, Yoga Instructor Certificate of Completion from the Advanced Studies/Teacher Training program at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco, and a passionate and dedicated personal practice of yoga since 1985.

Janet has been a Certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor for over 20 years. In addition to teaching public classes in San Francisco, Janet is an instructor in the Teacher Training Program here at IYISF and conducts retreats and workshops worldwide. She continues to study in the U.S. as well as in India with the Iyengar family. Janet has been an active community member holding positions on both the local and national boards. She was Convention Chair of the BKS Iyengar Association of the U.S. during the Iyengar Yoga Odessey in 2001. She has relinquished these duties and is now happy to dedicate her life to the practice, study and teaching of yoga.

Joe began teaching yoga in 1972. In 1986 he left his career in precision measurement to start teaching yoga. He is Iyengar certified and continues his studies with B.K.S, Geeta, and Prashant Iyengar. Committed and uncompromising, Joe brings an exacting, yet supportive approach to his teaching - both in the classroom and in private work.

Jaki has taught yoga for 20 years, holds a Junior Intermediate Senior 1 Teaching Certificate, and has an MA in Humanistic Psychology. Her emphasis of study was using yoga as a means of biofeedback and self-discovery. Jaki has taught psychology on the Junior College level. She also has a strong interest in functional anatomy, which she intertwines in her teaching. Jaki gives national and international workshops, her specialty workshop is on the pelvic floor. "I enjoy teaching. I like having the students leave feeling that they worked hard, learned something, and had a good time."
